What to Expect from Discover Kaka’ako at Ward Centers
Keiki, adults, and all those in between will “discover Kaka’ako” in an exciting way through the various activities that will be provided. Attendees will be treated to contests where prizes will be up for grabs, and various food vendors and trucks will be on hand for everyone to enjoy. Each month will also feature entertainment, such as fashion shows, along with comedian acts, and musical concerts spanning the different genres such as jazz, blues, Hawaiian, reggae, rock, country, alternative, etc.
In total, the Kaka’ako District sits on top of 600 acres of land and consists of Piikoi, King, Punchbowl Streets, and Ala Moana Boulevard. Currently, the Hawaii Community Development Authority (HCDA) is working to redevelop the area with the goal of making Kaka’ako “the most desirable urban place in Hawaii in which people can work, live, visit, learn and play”.
The Discover Kaka’ako festival will be held at Ward Centers, and produced by HPELive.
